Head Coach Boys Varsity Basketball

Matt Gallagher, a Notre Dame-East Stroudsburg alum and former Spartan standout, returned home to lead the boys varsity program where his basketball journey began. He played under legendary coach Bob Mullen and was part of back-to-back District 11 championship teams in 2005 and 2006.

Gallagher took the helm in 2022 after Mullen's retirement, previously serving as Stroudsburg's head coach for four seasons and earlier as Notre Dame's JV and assistant varsity coach from 2009–2014. He is now entering his fourth year leading the Spartans.

In just his second season back, Gallagher guided Notre Dame-ES to a District 11 Class 5A championship in 2024, continuing the program's winning tradition while building on the foundation his mentor established over 38 years.

Known for his deep roots in Spartans basketball and commitment to player development, Coach Gallagher brings experience, intensity, and a championship pedigree. He remains focused on preparing young men not only for success on the court, but for the challenges that await beyond it.
